Bridges to Understanding: Bridges to Understanding provides the tools and training that enables kids around the world to tell stories from their own lives and cultures. These stories are shared through the BRIDGES website where students can engage each other, ask questions about each others’ lives and collaborate to create multimedia stories exploring their cultures. Cross-Cultural Solutions: As a Cross-Cultural Solutions volunteer, you’ll work side-by-side with local people to help achieve important community objectives. The volunteer work is with carefully selected Partner Programs, all of which are dynamic and inspiring community-led initiatives. RCDP: RCDP is a non-profit volunteer organization registered with the Social Welfare Council HMG of Nepal. Since its inception in 1999, RCDP has conducted some of the most innovative and successful volunteer programs in the country. Nearly 300 volunteers annually join the program from the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia, and other countries, making it the largest volunteer operation in Nepal. Realizing the need for affordable volunteer opportunities for international students, RCDP has begun new volunteer programs in the neighboring countries of India, Tibet, and Sri Lanka. Presently, we offer programs of 1-12 weeks in four South Asian countries: Nepal, India, Tibet, and Sri Lanka. Volunteer opportunities run throughout the year and are available in such areas as English teaching, orphanage assistance, conservation work, health care, and others designed to meet the interest of individual volunteers. www.rcdpnepal.com

International Partnership for Service Learning: Offered in 14 countries, IPSL programs unite academic study for credit and volunteer service, giving students a fully integrated study abroad experience. The service enlivens the formal learning, and the learning informs the service. Both students and the host communities benefit from the substantial service each student gives. By studying at a local university and serving 15-20 hours per week in a school, orphanage, health clinic or other agency addressing human needs, students find their knowledge of the host culture--and of themselves--take on greater depth and meaning. www.ipsl.org
The International Volunteer Program: IVP is a non-profit organization that promotes volunteerism in Europe, the United States and Latin America. Operation Crossroads Africa: America’s premier cross-cultural exchange program, Operation Crossroads Africa was established in 1957 by Dr. James Robinson, who foresaw a “clear, honest, hard-hitting program” in which young North Americans would work at the grassroots level with young Africans. Peacework: Peacework promotes sustainable solutions to world poverty and disparity through global partnerships in development, education, health, and service. Global Eco Spiritual Tours: Located in the Himalayan Mountains, this is a unique travel adventure combining eco-tourism and spiritual awareness. The objective is to involve members in the environmental landscape and religious culture of the Ladakh region of northern India. Globe Aware: Globe Aware, a nonprofit organization, currently offers volunteer vacations in Peru, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cuba, Nepal, Brazil, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. These short-term (1 to 2 weeks) adventures in service focus on cultural-awareness and sustainability, and are often compared to a "mini peace corps". www.globeaware.org

World Teach: WorldTeach provides opportunities for volunteers to teach in developing countries, making a meaningful contribution to schools and communities that are in great need of teachers. Most volunteers teach English, and students range in age depending on the placement.
